I believe this cow is supposed to represent Girona, one of the other four provinces in Catalonia. All the artist kissed/signed the udder area of the cow!
How does the cow "fit" its enviroment? 
The malls of Barcelona were a great spot to put the cows. They liven things up without looking tacky or over the top.
